Old Isleworthians Youth Football Club is committed to the game of Association Football and is determined to uphold the principles of fair play and good ethics in sport. Accordingly, all participants (playing or otherwise) are asked to adhere to and promote the following code of conduct, which will be rigorously enforced by the Club.
We expect all Players, Coaches, Parents and Supporters to abide by the Old Isleworthians Youth Football Club Code of Conduct at all times. In addition we adhere to the FA Coaches Association Code of Conduct, which forms the benchmark for all involved in coaching, supporting and running Old Isleworthians Youth FC.
Each player will be asked to sign two copies of the code of conduct every year/season. The Parent or guardian of the player will also be asked to sign the same copies. One copy will be retained by the player and one by the club.
Any infringements of the Code of Conduct may result in:
- Players not being considered for team selection, or in the event of serious misconduct being expelled from Old Isleworthians Youth F.C.
- Managers/Coaches being censured over behaviour or conduct or in the event of serious misconduct being expelled from Old Isleworthians Youth F.C.
- Parents and Spectators being censured over behaviour or conduct or in the event of serious misconduct being expelled from Old Isleworthians Youth F.C.
Cases of serious misconduct will be reported to the Club Secretary who will convene a meeting of no less than three club representatives, who will decide on what process to follow and what action to take.
Players Must
- Play within the laws of the game.
- Behave honestly and sportingly
- Accept the coaches/managers decisions
- Respect opponents, match officials and spectators
- Encourage their team mates
- Not use foul, abusive or racist language
- Not retaliate or fight with opponents or team mates
- Not belittle opponents
- Not argue with match officials
Managers and Coaches Must
- Support, encourage and praise players
- Set a good example to players acting as a role model for children
- Comply with F.A., League and Club rules
- Accept the decisions of match officials
- Respect opponents, match officials and spectators
- Not use foul, abusive or racist language
- Behave honestly and sportingly
Parents and spectators should
- Support, encourage and praise players
- Give positive feedback
- Respect opponents and match officials
- Not use foul, abusive, racist or threatening language at matches
- Not resort to using violent behaviour
- Not attend matches whilst drunk or otherwise intoxicated
- Not consume excessive alcohol or use drugs at matches
- Not put undue pressure on players
Managers, Coaches, Players, Parents and Supporters should
- Show consideration for pitches, equipment and premises especially when playing away
- Not leave litter/debris/orange peel/ plastic bottles around pitches after games
- Ensure that changing rooms are left in a clean and tidy condition
